Life Being An Observer – Pros & Cons

Disclaimer - What is being shared, is either my own perception, experience, or my story and has nothing to do with anyone else.

If you have read my blogs, you might have gone through the phrase "I have observed" or "I have seen" kinds of sentences in my writings many times. That's true, I use them a lot. This is because: I "unintentionally" observe things deeply and quickly.

Since childhood, I used to notice everything like the words, the way of speaking, gestures, eyes or hands movements, and walking style. When I observe things or people around, my mind automatically starts analyzing it critically and realistically.

For Instance:
If you tell me about anything, the "observing-insect" suddenly appears from any corner of the mind. It will start looking out for “something” through your eyes, gestures and even a single little movement of your hands. Also, it will help to differentiate between what you have said and what your eyes were telling.

Scared? Don’t be. It’s not in my hands neither I do it to judge you. Lol. It has become a part of me now as I am still struggling to cope up with it.

In other words, you can say it a mind or face reading. I will call it an "observation mind" that is actually the functionality of the brain, and I refer "observation mind" with the part of the head that observes things.

There are very few people who keep strong observation power about everything (at least, what I have seen) that makes them forget to just “leave it” and move on.

Below, I will discuss a few pros and cons of being an observer.

Pros:
  • The deep analysis allows you to understand matters deeply and critically.
  • You understand behaviors, reactions, and outcomes.
  • It helps in everyday life as it handles the bad phases of life by letting you cater to the problems.
  • It is a blessing for many because it helps to identify the right and wrong.
Cons:
  • The observation mind never stays free. It keeps you busy with every observation activity without taking rest.
  • It keeps doing its own calculations even when you are watching TV or checking your social media accounts.
  • Thinking-game sometimes crosses the limits just because of the observation mind's constant busyness.
  •  It makes you sensitive.
  • The continuous observation that puts the mind on operational mode 24/7, slows down the mind at times because of its attention at different places simultaneously.

   In a Nutshell
Having strong observation is a good thing but we all should try to use only when it is intensively needed. As it is quoted:
“Excessive and unrequired use of anything is harmful and contagious to health.” – Healwith_words

Take care of yourself, your mind and your surroundings.
