According to the study, till 2017, almost 264 million people were suffering from depression. By looking into this stat, you can easily assume the latest percentage rate.

Also, the aggression rate is high, and you can find it in every other person.

Well, it can be because we have lost control over our emotions and mood swings. Undoubtedly, emotions, feelings, and mood swings play a very important role in leading us to harmony or depression.

Sometimes, we are suffering from a bad mood for no reason. Well, that's not true. Mood swings always occur due to some repressed emotions. Yes, when we are emotionally devasted and broken, only then it starts affecting our mood and end up in depression. This is how our emotions are directly related to our moods.

Under this section, I will brief how to repress emotions without putting yourself in danger.

1. Keep Quiet & Close Your Eyes

Whenever you are at the edge of despair or aggressively disappointed with the behavior of people. Just close your eyes and keep quiet. Trust me, this trick helps a lot. Irrefutably, it is the test of your patience. Still, it can aid in instilling calmness in your mind. Also, silence sometimes can save you from environmental inflexibility.

2. Resilience Rules

Emotional mastery comes with resilience. The ability to tolerate everything while staying mentally stout is all that makes you control moods. Also, it makes you headstrong in your decisions and doughty as a person.

3. Divert Your Attention

Feeling emotionally down? Or something is going out of the way for you? Don’t panic! I suggest you divert your attention from that specific task and get indulged in something more interesting and entertaining like cooking that actually heals a person. By doing so, you would feel peaceful. Once your mind gets clear from the mist of misunderstanding, you will see another side of the story.

4. Talk To GOD Almighty

The best way to get rid of mood swings and emotional breakdown is to get connected with your GOD. For me, talking to ALLAH is the only key to get relaxed. At times of adversities or whenever negative vibes surround me, I just try to talk to the Almighty, share my thoughts with Him, and seek guidance from Him.

5. Keep A Positive Sight

Despite the bad mood, if you really want to stay calm, have a look at the positive side of the scenario. Try to understand others and put yourself in their shoes for some time. As it is said:

“Walking a mile in someone’s shoes isn’t a cup of tea for everyone. It requires great courage to be in. Thus you can’t understand the situation the other person is going through.” – @healwith_words

6. Jot Down Your Feelings

Once someone asked me how do you manage your emotions and moods? To which I replied:

“I write to feel right.”

Try this tip and thank me later. However, many of you would agree with me who love to write their feelings, dreams, and secret stories in diaries. Still, some people think that it is an old-fashioned technique. But, actually, they also want to do this in the heart. For those, here is advice, listen to your heart and write it out.

7. Inhale & Exhale

The best rule of life is to play with your breath. How? Just follow this simple step:

“Inhale the fresh air and exhale the bad out.”

Fresh air is really positive for your body, when it enters, it spreads positivity, liveliness, and contentment. Moreover, exhaling the bad air out means that you are throwing distress and negative thoughts away.

8. Observe Your Behavior

To make your mood better, work on your behavior. Thereby, I suggest you observe your manners, deeds, and actions. Analyze it properly and see where do you stand? Sometimes, what we perceive is totally different from what is going on. Certainly, wrong self-assumptions put an unpleasant impact on moods and emotions.

9. Lock Yourself Up In The Room

Burying hurtful emotions is, nonetheless, so hard. But, it's not impossible. To lock up your disturbing feelings, what I do is I lock down myself in the room for some time. There, I cry out and when I feel good, I am a happy person again.

Note: This trick is solely my experience. I won’t recommend this to anyone. Because every person is going through a different phase, so locking up in the room can put one in more harm in any way.
